Fall officially started today at 5:18PM but pockets of bright colors could already be found across the entire the state today.
There is still lots of green trees as most of the state is still in very early stages. However, higher elevations are now starting to display mid-stage color with varying shades of orange, yellow, and red. Red maple trees in or near wetlands are close to peak and ash trees are starting to turn purple.
Colder weather is expected later in the week and it should make the colors pop and in more areas.

I was up there this weekend and I was surprised to see as much color as I did on the leaves. I think it is going to be a great fall for photography up there!
